Lauren Garcellano is a scientific illustrator based in Southeast Michigan, with a BFA in Illustration at the College for Creative Studies in Detroit. Her work emanates from her endless desire to learn about the natural world, and her steadfast belief that a deeper connection to the Earth is essential to preserving it. She seeks to utilize artistic expression in service of educating the public on knowledge that further helps the human race nurture the planet that we call home.
Through meticulous observation and research, Lauren's portfolio notably features intricate details within nature, as well as the long-lasting narrative of humankind's relationship with flora and fauna. She works in a variety of media, including watercolor and gouache, digital, and water oils.
